Week 4: A Picture is Worth

Copyright laws protect your work, so no one can steal it if its yours.
Fair use is allowed in some cities or states.
Anything that is yours can’t be used without permission from you and your work can’t be sold without permission from you.
On computers you can duplicate your work.
People can’t change or share your work unless you give permission.
Fair use counts as long as you don’t say you made the work if you didn’t do it.
The law gives you full copyright on anything you make.
The law includes protection for pictures, drawings, videos, and stories.
A Creative Commons license provides a collection of free content licenses that you can apply to your work.
The license is a document that states the freedoms and limitations you can apply to your work.
The license also are designed to work internationally protect your work.
All licenses require you to give credit to the creator of the work if you share it.
If you don’t want anyone to sell it, you can put a noncommercial stamp on it so no one can sell it without permission.
If you do let them sell it, then they must give you some of the profit from the work you made and they sold.
People can use your work if you put a derivative stamp on it and can add more things to it.
The symbol sharealike lets other people use your work if they follow your guidelines.
